The genus Tylecodon belong to
the crassulaceae
family. The plants are small (Tylecodon scadens) to medium-sized (Tylecodon
paniculatus) in shape, stems are smooth and papery or covered in tubercles. The
leaves are smooth to pubescent, linear to roundish in shape, light green to dark green in
colour often tinged red. Flowers appear on an inflorescence, they are red to pink or brownish-green in colour. Flowers are tubular and bell-shaped. The distribution area for Tylecodon is southern Namibia through Namaqualand and dry regions of the Western Cape, South Africa. The plants are found on rocky slopes. |
