Distribution:  Found in Madagascar
Description:  A shrub with thorny branches which may reach a height of up to one and a half meters.  The green caducous leaves may have a reddish tinge on the margins.
Flower: The cyathia appear on a long pedunce which originates near the tip of growing branches, the bracts are red in colour.
Propagation:  Seeds and cuttings.
Cultivation:  I grow my plants in my greenhouse (under UV deck plastic) and water them more than average with regular feedings.  I'v tried growing this plant in full sun but it did not thrive, it just stopped growing.
