Description: The main stem is buried with many smaller stems branching from it. The "head" measures 50 cm in diameter. | |
Flower: A cluster of sweet-scented terminal cyathia are formed. The involucres are filled with white wooly bracteoles. | |
Propagation: Seeds and cuttings. | |
Common names: The true "vingerpol". | |
Point of interest: "esculenta" means edible, Marloth told farmers to feed these plants to their stock during droughts as they are highly nutritious. |
