Distribution:  Found in Namaqualand from Loriesfontein northwards to the Orange river, eastward. to Upington and in Namibia.  These aloes are found in very arid areas, usually on rocky north-facing hills.

Description:  A tall (3.5 m  to 4.5 m) thick trunked tree that branches dichotomously in the middle.  The leaves are bluish-green and 35cm long.  The leaf margin has a brown-yellow edge with yellowish 1mm long teeth.

Flower:  The bright yellow flowers, 3cm long, develop on branched spikes in june/july.

Cultivation:  Full sun to light shade,  light frost protection required, drought resistant.  min temp -1C - 4C (USDA 8 - 10).

Propagation:  Seeds and cuttings.

Common names:  Kokerboom, Tree Aloe, Quiver Tree, Choje (Bushman Name).
