Aphids

Description:

Various small soft-bodied insects of the family Aphidae that have adapted mouthparts for sucking sap from plants.  The are green, black, brown and pale yellow in colour.  

Aphids attack the new soft growth of plants and are capable of totally destroying young Aloes.

Treatment:

Environmentally freindly:

  • Make a solution of 5ml liquid detergent and 1l water, use the force of the spray to wash the Aphids off.

  • Ladybugs are Aphids (Green Fly)s natural predator, introduce them into your greenhouse.

Chemical:

  • Malathion - 25ml/10l water

  • Metasystox - 10ml/10l water

  • Benelate - 5g/10l water

  • Thiarum - 10g/10l water
