Distribution: Found in the Cape Province in the Karoo region from Prince Albert northwards to Kenhardt. |

Description: The many stems (150mm in height) have many vertical rows of tubercles that are tipped with stiff bristles. The stems closely resemble those of Hoodia piliferum but the spines of Hoodia flava are darker.. |

Flowers: Flowers are yellow and 12,5 mm in diameter, disc is flat over which the the distinctive pincer-like yellow outer corona extends. |
